During this period of drought, water your lawn deeply and infrequently when the grass calls for it or don't water at all. Grass protects itself by going dormant during drought then reviving when the dry spell ends.

Here are some Trio Lawn Care tips for water efficiency measures and remember EVERY DROP COUNTS....

Sweep driveways, sidewalks and steps rather than hosing off.
Water the lawn or garden during the coolest part of the day (early morning is the best).
DO NOT water on windy days so all the water gets to the lawn.
Set sprinklers to water the lawn or garden ONLY, not the street or sidewalk.
Use mulch around shrubs and garden plants to reduce evaporation from soil surface and cut down on weed growth.
Remove thatch and aerate turf to encourage movement of water to the roots.
Report water losses (broken pipes, open hydrant, errant sprinklers) to the property owner, local authorities or water management district.
